The Classical Guitar Home Page

About Me

I created the Classical Guitar Home Page in 1996 to make it easy for classical guitar lovers to play difficult pieces easily, without having to spend time transcribing them from sheet music, a sometimes long and hard task… Instead, they can read the guitar tablature, an easier way to read music for the guitar.

Here’s a little information about me:

  • Name: Gian Piero Ciammariconi
  • Born: 09/13/1980
  • Ocupation: Video editor, graduated in Mass Communications & Media in October 2005 at the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Caracas, Venezuela. I’m also a classical guitar student at the Pedro Nolazco Colon conservatory.
  • Hobbies: Classical guitar (of course), reading, watching movies & TV, all kinds of music, spending time with my friends.
  • Favorite Music: Classical & Classical Guitar Music, Progressive Rock.
  • Favorite Bands: Dreamtheater, Pain of Salvation, Guns n’ Roses, The Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd.
  • Favorite Movies: These tend to change over time, but I’ll try… Lord of the Rings trilogy, Tha Matrix, Memento, Shine, lots of documentaries.
  • Favorite Guitar Composer: Agustin Barrios Mangore, followed by Andrew York.
  • Favorite Classical Guitar Songs: La Catedral (Barrios), Un Sueño en la Floresta (Barrios), Sunshine Rag (York), many others!
  • My Guitar: Alhambra, model 11P, spanish made.

Congrats for this site Gianpiero. Perhaps you might include some Flamenco style compositions in it. I have some of my own, but I don’t have then on TAB. Could you do the transcription?…Congrats again.

I came across your site by accident while searching for some music earlier today. I must say that you have a fantastic arrangement of music on your site! I started playing as an electric player, but switched to classical as soon as i began expanding my musical tastes. I am teaching myself to read music, but in the mean time, your tabs are very much appreciated. Excelent job!

Thanks for the work doing these tabs!
I have just recently learned to read TAB. It used to really bother me. But I kind like them now.
I was looking for the Dyens Tango in standard notation. But found your TAB really good.
    Thanks!

    Hello Gian Peiro,
I remember your site when you first started in 1996! I think I dropped off a few tablatures for you. It’s great to see you still playing and enjoying music. I still play off and on, and I am getting back into it after quite a long layoff. It’ s like starting all over again!
    I enjoy your site!

    Thanks Gianpiero,

For running the show for so long!

I still remember dearly of Vienna/6619, the yin-yang ratings, and of when I found out about Barrios, Brouwer & Dyens for the very first time!

    Keep rocking!

The link is the latest piece I did (Feb 19, -8)

It is a classical guitar instrumental with orchestra. I composed that as well in Logic 8.

The piece is called Hero’s Dust Iraq

    Thanks for reading.

    Gracias nuevamente.

Hi i live in indonesia. i learnt classical guitar by myself and asking my friend which has more expertise about guitar than me of course. After graduated from college, i don’t play guitar for around 2 years. I left my guitar at other city. Just now I bought a new one. Browsing for tabs and than came to your page. What a nice simple classical guitar site. I also very appreciate the description of each composition. That makes me give more feeling when playing.

Thanks for the site. Keep share your knowledge. :)
